Geminids 2015

The annual Geminid meteor shower peaked night, Dec. 13-14, as Earth passes through a stream of gravelly debris from comet 3200 Phaethon. This year activity on 2m band was much better then last year so I decided to look for new sqr´s for me.

During 4 days, Dec. 11-15, worked 23 sqr´s: KP13, JN49, IN78, JO01, JN16, KO48, KO59, KO16, KN28, JN37, IO81, JN53, IN93, IO62, JN03, JO20, IN97, JO82, KP50, JN24, KN29, JN47, IN91.

It results with 4 new sqr´s for me: JN53, KN29, JN16, JN24. Missed 3 sqr´s: KP69, LO06 and JN14, so have to look forward for these next time. Now totally worked 440.

Best QRB: 1939 km with EA2AGZ in IN91dv. Unfortunattely this time none above 2000km.

Was QRV with 2×6 elements antenna, masted LNA and 300 watts power amp.

As an extra challenge I did a test on 70cm with OK1TEH (got a one tiny burst) and IK0BZY (none). Used 19 elements antenna with masted preamp and 250 watts power amp.
